Makaela graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English. Her lifelong passion for curiosity and education led her to Dr. Montessori’s child-centered pedagogy in 2019. Since then, she’s had several years of work experience with children as a nanny and Montessori aid. She recently started her AMI elementary training in tandem with her M.Ed. in Montessori education. She enjoys many hobbies including roller skating, rock climbing, traveling, snowboarding, and hiking. Finding the perfect place for her interests and passions, she moved to Utah in 2023 and found Soaring Wings. She’s excited to have found a school where she can grow in the Montessori community and guide children to develop a love for joyful, curiosity-driven work.
